Trees in riveside walk Hello there, I'm a resident living down Newfield road in Lissforest, right at the bottom, and the woodland is right behind me. For the second time now, I have heard one of the residents from 35 Newfield road in the woods with a chain saw. It's now a sunday afternoon, just gone four and he started around half past three. I don't have any idea of how long there garden is but I am quite sure it's not right in the middle of the woods. I just thought I'd let you know as I underrstand it is illegal to cut down trees that are not on your own property, especially in a nature reserve? If somebody could kindly let who ever is responsible know, that would be great. My telephone number is 01730 894150 23 Newfield Road Many thanks. Katie Tallon Submitted By: Katie Tallon

SPEEDING BOY RACERS NOW IN MINT ROAD From: Donna and Dan Voice, 9 Mint Road Dear Tony Speeding – Mint Road It would now appear that Mint Road is experiencing a lot of boy racers going up our road, from the village end. There is always a dark red little car, which comes bombing up at 19:10 at night, every night. Last night I was in bed and at about 21:50 a car came flying up the road, I am not exaggerating, doing over 80 miles an hour. This is totally unacceptable Tony. This cannot carry on. Dan and I said what can we do, as nothing seems to have been done. Eileen, next door is already concerned and annoyed at a lorry that visits Grovewood in the mornings. These boy racers have no concern clearly as to our road, and also late at night, about people walking up and down the road or deers, or anything Tony. Please can you contact the Council and try and sort something out, once and for all. I have contacted Hampshire Police to see if they can do anything, as there is going to be a serious accid

Children's Centre I would very much like to put some information on your website about the children's centre which is coming to Liss and the surrounding areas. We will be providing services to children under 5 and their families on a free or affordable basis and I would love to have a little section on your site so I can update local residents. The Children's Centre is Hampshire County Council run and will operate from a mobile bus and from local facilities such as village halls and community centres. We are working with local childcare settings as well. Would this be possuble Please? I look forward to hearing from you Rosemary Chase Submitted By: Rosemary Chase

Events I am a parent governor at Rogate School, a small, rural school on the border of Hampshire & West Sussex, 3 miles from Petersfield. You may remember the recent press coverage (one of our team had a number of interviews on Delta) as West Sussex County Council were proposing to close us! Needless to say, we were not having any of that, and after 3 months, we were given the fantastic news that we are to remain open!! Now we would like to invite parents and prospective parents to come and look at our fantastic school and see why we fought so hard to keep it open! With this in mind, we have 2 events in July and wondered if you would be able to broadcast the details on our behalf: Rogate CE Primary School Open Day: Thursday 10th March 2008: 2pm - 4pm Robin Hood Themed Summer Fete with Amazing Falconry Display: Sunday 20th July 2008: 2pm - 4.30pm Here are a few of our highlights: Top Ofsted Report – Sep 2007 SATS for Key Stage 1 – well above national average (2007 & 2008

Historical Research Dear Sirs. I was born in the Liss area on December 9, 1941. I believe there was a stately home that was loaned by the owners and used as a hospital for birthing during the war years. I am trying to learn more about this home and the family. Can you help? Best regards, Tony Grant Submitted By: Anthony Grant
